GRANT WRITING

I love helping artists and non-profits create and fund projects that are close to their hearts.

I am a professional writer and editor and American Film Institute-trained screenwriter with over 20 years experience writing across mediums, from film, TV and digital series to advertising, grant writing and magazine journalism. As a filmmaker, writing and obtaining grants is how I fund most of my projects. I have helped clients write grants for Telefilm, Ontario Creates, the Bell Fund, the Independent Production Fund, the Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and CALQ. I have also helped filmmakers apply for training programs run by such institutions as the Sundance Labs, Women In the Director’s Chair, the CFC and the Writers Lab, having participated in several of these programs myself.

In the not-for-profit space I have written grants for funding bodies and private foundations including the Ontario Trillium Foundation, Canadian Heritage and the Canada Council for the Arts.

My services include: researching available grants and writing them for clients, managing annual grant “action plans” and story editing and coaching services for creatives. To date I have written successful grants for over $1.5 million in funding.
