GRANT WRITING

I have been a professional writer for over 20 years, writing across mediums that include film and TV, advertising and magazine journalism. As a writer and director of film and TV (my specialty for the last 10+ years) writing and obtaining grants is how I have funded most of my work. And so it seemed only natural with the downturn in the industry that I begin to write grants for others.

To date, I have helped filmmakers and other creatives write successful grants for Telefilm, Ontario Creates, the Bell Fund, the Independent Production Fund, the Ontario Arts Council, Toronto Arts Council and CALQ.

In the not-for-profit space I have written grants for funding bodies including The Trillium Foundation, Canadian Heritage and the Canada Council for the Arts.

My consulting services include: researching available grants and writing them for clients, managing annual grant “action plans” and story editing and coaching services for creatives. I have a running database of available grants I am continually updating. To date I have written successful grants for over $2.75 million in funding.
